About
I was 32 when I started cooking; up until then, I just ate.—Julia Child.
I was 26 when I started cooking, but other than that, I too “just ate” before that. How much I missed!
I’m married to a man who loves to cook and I’m stay-at-home mom to a toddler preschooler who eats everything under the sun is beginning to be picky about what he eats. I’m learning to love cooking. I have a long way to go before I’m accomplished, and I’m enjoying the journey! This blog is a journal of my cooking progress (both successes and failures), the recipes I’ve enjoyed, and the things I’ve learned along the way.
I like Italian food best, and I love chicken in all varieties. I hate mushrooms, but my husband likes them so I may add them to my dishes sometimes, for his sake. I don’t ever cook with alcohol. I have a sweet tooth and love deserts, but I don’t make them often: my goal is to make dinner delicious enough that we don’t have any space left for the sugar!
I find recipes via online websites and food blogs, in cookbooks, and via cooking shows by Rachel Ray, Giadia, and Barefoot Contessa. I like simple food, as long as it’s delicious.
I also enjoy reading, writing, and photography. Visit www.rebeccareid.com for more information. I can be reached at rebecca [at] rebeccareid [dot] com.
